11. An affinity for the special case and a disinterest in fundamentals.
(Math professors are really bad about this.)
12. A deeply ingrained belief in the inherent and absolute superiority of
the intellectual. (They almost ALL have this but humanities profs are
the most obnoxious about it.)
13. A matching disdain for business and commerce, partly maintained by the
fact that industry people make a lot more money than academics do.
There are, to be fair, some profs who are clever, enthusiastic, like almost
everybody, and have a sense of humor, but they seem to be a minority.
